‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ Leaps Onto Apple TV Screens

The popular SEGA classic game, Sonic the hedgehog, previously available for iOS devices, has leapt onto Apple TV screens. The Genesis classic has launched in the Apple TV App Store, allowing fans to play all of the retro action using their Siri Remote. (Via TouchArcade)

From the Sonic the Hedgehog App Store Page:

Race at lightning speeds across seven classic zones as Sonic the Hedgehog. Run and spin through loop-de-loops as you collect rings and defeat enemies on your mission to save the world from the evil Dr. Eggman.

Starting today, Sonic 1 is available on the new Apple TV. Thursday, March 24, fans will Sonic 2 for Apple TV arrive in the tvOS App Store. And last but not least, Sonic CD for Apple TV will see its release on Thursday, March 31.

As you can see, I truly sucked at the game, but in my defense, I was using the Siri Controller. I highly recommend an Apple TV-compatible Bluetooth game controller if you’re going to play.

Sonic The Hedgehog is available now in the tvOS App Store for $2.99. The next two Sonic games will likely be priced similarly. If you’ve already purchased Sonic on your iOS device, you can find the Apple TV version  in the “Not on This Apple TV” sub-section under the Purchased section in the tvOS App Store.
