UGH! There’s Another “Critical” Flash Flaw That Allows Attackers to Take Control of Your Mac

Yes Virginia, there is another “critical” Flash flaw that has been discovered. The latest flaw, as usual, allows the bad guys to take control of your Mac. Adobe AIR also has the same vulnerability. Adobe has released updates for both, so update immediately. Or, you could just stop using Flash. We’re just sayin’…

Adobe has released security updates for Adobe Flash Player.  These updates address critical vulnerabilities that could potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.

Adobe is aware of a report that an exploit for CVE-2016-1010 is being used in limited, targeted attacks.

To update your installation of Flash, visit Adobe’s update page and hit the ‘Install now’ button. That link goes directly to Adobe’s website, and is the ONLY place you should EVER install an update from!

Hopefully, posts like this will someday become a relic of a bygone day, as even Adobe has finally seen the writing on the wall. The company recently released Animate CC, the replacement for their Flash Professional app. The new app uses HTML5 in place of Flash for the animations it creates. Sadly, the new app does still support Flash, so it’s going to be awhile before the bug-ridden beast finally breathes its last…

Remember kids! The ONLY place for Flash is on The CW, Tuesday nights at 8PM Eastern.
