Universal Search allows Apple TV users to use their Siri Remote to conduct voice searches or text-based searches to find movies and television episodes across a number of supported channels. While the feature supported only a few channels at launch, Apple has been steadily adding support for new channels.

Supported channels in the United States include:

  • Movies and TV shows in iTunes
  • ABC
  • A&E
  • Bravo
  • CBS
  • Cooking Channel
  • Disney Channel
  • Disney Jr
  • Disney XD
  • DIY
  • E!
  • Food Network
  • FOXNOW
  • FXNO
  • FYI
  • HBO GO
  • HBO NOW
  • HGTV
  • History
  • Hulu
  • Lifetime
  • Nat Geo TV
  • NBC
  • Netflix
  • PBS
  • PBS Kids

Viewers outside of the United States aren’t as well served, with Netflix and iTunes the only apps supported by universal search in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Most other countries currently only see support for iTunes.
