Apple Sends Press Invitations for WWDC 2016 Keynote

Apple Sends Press Invitations for WWDC 2016 Keynote

Apple on Wednesday invited members of the press, (no, not us, SIGH!) to attend the Worldwide Developers Conference 2016 Keynote, to be held on June 13, at 10AM PST. The WWDC Keynote kicks off Apple’s annual developers event, which will run from June 13 to June 17.

The keynote will take place at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, which is a larger venue that where the event has taken place in past years, Moscone West.

Apple is expected to announce new versions of iOS, OS X, watchOS, and tvOS at the event, and maybe even debut a new piece of hardware or two. Bits and pieces of info about a redesigned MacBook Pro have been leaking out, so perhaps we might see a new MacBook debut at the event.

iOS 10 is expected to boast a new Apple Music app, a much improved Siri, (along with a Siri SDK for developers), and Apple Pay support for web browsers.

OS X 10.12, (macOS 1?), is rumored to be bringing Siri to the Mac, offering a dedicated Siri button in the Dock and the Menu Bar, and possibly always-on “Hey Siri,” functionality, like iOS.

Apple will likely make a live steam of the WWDC Keynote available for viewing, much as they have in previous years, making it available via the web and Apple TV. MacTrast will once again be providing live coverage of the event, and will also cover any other developments during the rest of the conference.
