Peg ‘n Holes Offers a Challenging Diversion for Logic Puzzle Fans

Independent developer Jordan Naftolin has released Pegs ‘n Holes 1.9, his logic puzzle game for the iPhone and iPad. The game offers a colorful logic-based challenge, as players must determine the correct sequence of moves to use the colorful pegs to fill the color-matched holes.

The trick to the game is you have to have a clear shot at the hole to plug it with a peg. If there’s another color of hole still empty between the peg and the matching hole, you can’t make the move.

I’ve been playing the game for the last week or so, and I’ve found it to be an entertaining diversion for those moments I’m waiting for an appointment, short work breaks, and even when I’m just bored out of my mind and there isn’t anything good on TV.

Games can take just a few moments for the smaller boards, while the larger boards will present a puzzle that will take awhile to figure out. The great thing about the game is the ability to undo moves, so you can backtrack to where you went wrong and try again. (Or, select the nuclear option and just start over completely.)

Board sizes range from 4×4, all the way up to 9×9. The boards are randomly generated, so you likely won’t see the same board twice, and all boards are guaranteed to have a solution. (So, it IS just you.) Players can also compete online against other players, and there’s an option for colorblind players that uses shapes instead of colors.

Pegs ‘n Holes 1.9 is free, and is available through the iOS App Store. [GET IT HERE] Players can remove ads and unlock extra-large board sizes via in-app purchases. An Android version is available through Google Play. Windows Phone and Windows 10 versions are also available.
