Apple’s World Trade Center Store to Open Tuesday, August 16th

Apple has announced Tuesday, August 16th as the date for the grand opening of its latest New York City Apple Store. The new store will be located in the World Trade Center complex in lower Manhattan. The new store is located in the transit and retail hub within the $4 billion Oculus structure, which was designed by Santiago Calatrava.

Plans for the new retail store have been rumored since 2013, and were confirmed two years ago. The new structure is located near the site of the original World Trade Center towers, which were destroyed during the horrible events of September 11, 2001.

The new store will be the eighth Apple retail location located in New York City, which include: a SoHo store just 1.5 miles away form the new store; the  West 14th store; the Grand Central Terminal location; the flagship, (and best known of the NYC stores), Fifth Avenue Cube; The Upper West Side and Upper East Side stores; and the recently opened Brooklyn location.
