Pokémon Go Update Offers Driving Warning, Curve Ball Accuracy Improvements, More

Niantic has update the popular Pokémon Go game to version 1.3. The update brings a number of improvements and bug fixes. The game now warns players if it detects that they might be playing while driving.

What’s New in Version 1.3.0

Pokémon GO has been updated to version 1.3.0. Below are some release notes and comments:

– Added a dialog to remind Trainers that they should not play while traveling above a certain speed. Trainers must confirm they are not driving in order to continue playing
– Made improvements to the accuracy of a curveball throw
– Fixed a bug that prevented ”Nice,” ”Great,” and “Excellent” Poké Ball throws from awarding the appropriate experience bonuses
– Fixed achievements showing incorrect Medal icons
– Enabled the ability for Trainers to change their nickname one time, so please choose your new nickname wisely
– Resolved issues with the battery saver mode and re-enabled this feature
– Added visuals of Team leaders – Candela, Blanche and Spark
– We’re currently testing a variation of the “Nearby Pokémon” feature with a subset of users. During this period you may see some variation in the nearby Pokémon UI.
– Minor text fixes

The battery saver mode has been restored. Trainers can hold their phone upside-down while playing, causing the screen to dim, allowing players to walk around and wait for pokémon to buzz them eliminating the need to have their screen lit up, due to the need to constantly watch their phone.

The update also brings improved throwing features, with imrpvements to the accuracy of a curveball, and ”Nice,” ”Great,” and “Excellent” Poké Ball throws are now awarded the appropriate experience bonuses.

The game now include visuals of the Team leaders – Candela, Blanche and Spark, and the game’s “Nearby” feature has been renamed to “Sightings.” Niantic notes this feature, is testing with a subset of users.

A number of other changes an improvements were made in the game, and they are listed above.
