Designer Martin Hajek’s Jet Black AirPod Mockups Show What Could Have Been

Some ask “why?” and some ask “why not?” Then there’s designer Martin Hajek, who asks “why did this not happen?” (Then there’s our readers, who ask: “what the hell are they talking about?”)

Mr. Hajek recently created some enticing mockups of what Apple’s new AirPods would look like if they were available in the same Jet Black coloring as the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. We think the resulting AirPods would be quite popular.

What if Apple had done the new AirPods in black too?
I modelled these earphones and rendered them in brand-new iPhone gloss black.
You can’t buy these for real but you can download the 3D model of these AirPods by clicking here: goo.gl/DMV5sy

Hajek added gold tips to the earbuds as a nice touch, and even includes mockups of the AirPods charging case, also in the Jet Black motif. All-in-all, the result is a lust-worthy option that Apple is sure to announce next year. You know, after we’ve all bought the white model first…

Mr, Hajek does some great work mocking up rumored Apple products, such as the MacBook Pro with the much-rumored OLED function key row, and even an Apple 3D Printer. Check out more of his fine work here.
