Apple Seeds watchOS 3.1 Beta 3 to Developers

Apple on Wednesday seeded the third beta of watchOS 3.1 to developers for testing. The release comes just a bit more than one week after the second developer beta of the upcoming Apple Watch operating system.

The third watchOS 3.1 beta – build 14S471 – can be downloaded through the dedicated Watch app on an iPhone running iOS 10 by going to“General” -> “Software Update.” The Apple Watch must have 50% battery life remaining, be placed on an Apple Watch charger, and it must be in range of the iPhone.

watchOS 3 introduced a number of significant changes to the Apple Watch operating system. A new dock, several performance improvements, new navigation features, watchfaces and apps, new fitness-related features, and much more are available in the new version.

So far, the betas of watchOS 3.1 have appeared to be under-the-hood fixes and improvements. It isn’t known what, if any, visible changes are present in the third beta of watchOS 3.1, but we’ll keep you posted in this space.
