Apple has updated the Apple Watch Nike+ area of their website to announce the new wearable will be available on October 28. Apple had previously announced the new model would debut sometime in late October.
The new Apple Watch model is the result of a partnership between Apple and Nike, which has the goal of helping to motivate runners to achieve better results by wearing the Apple Watch Nike+ device. (And, thus selling a buttload of them.) The new wearable certainly stands out from other Apple Watch models, with row after row of unique compression‑molded perforations, with a contrast of colors.
Nike designed special software for use with the Nike+ Watch, which includes unique watch faces, and complications, all designed to motivate runners to stay active. The watch faces and complications are available only with the purchase of the Apple Watch Nike+ edition.
The new wearable is currently available for pre-order, and is available in four models starting at $369 for 38mm and $399 for 42mm. Available models include:
- Space Gray Aluminum Case with Black/Volt Nike Sport Band
- Space Gray Aluminum Case with Black/Cool Gray Nike Sport Band
- Silver Aluminum Case with Flat Silver/White Nike Sport Band
