Apple is Charging Customers’ Credit Cards for MacBook Pro with Touch Bar Orders

A number of customers who have ordered a new Apple MacBook Pro with Touch Bar model laptop are reporting they are seeing their credit card charged ahead of Apple’s earliest shipping date of November 17.

9to5Mac:

Apple typically begins shipping devices shortly after charging credit cards, but so far it appears to have not yet changed the status of orders to provide an expected delivery day. Apple usually changes orders from “Processing” to “Shipped” after charging cards, at which time customers should have a more accurate estimated delivery date provided compared to Apple’s original estimated week-long window.

Apple debuted the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar models on October 27, and began accepting orders for the new notebooks that same day. The new computer, which boasts a Retina Touch Bar display in place of the traditional row of function keys, originally offered shipping estimates of 2-3 weeks, soone slipping to 4.5 weeks due to high demand.

A number of users took to Twitter to announce their new MacBook Pros could soon be on the way:

While a number of customers report their credit cards have been charged, none report their shipping status having changed to “Shipped.” As soon as that happens, we’ll know around when the new laptops should begin arriving into the hot little hands of customers.
