Feral Interactive announced on Monday that F1 2016 will race into the Mac App Store and onto Steam on April 6th. The new version of Feral’s popular racing game will be powered by Apple’s graphics API, Metal.

F1 2016, the official video game of the 2016 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP™, takes players deeper into the world’s most glamorous, exciting and prestigious motorsport, both on and off the track.

An all-new career mode sits at the heart of the game, allowing players to create their own legend over a lifetime in the sport that can span up to a massive ten seasons.

This is the first new version of F1 in 3 years, and David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral Interactive, says a lot has happened in three years. “F1 2016 is a massive step forward for the franchise, greatly improving upon the fastest and most thrilling on-track racing experience in gaming.”

F1 2016 Offers Extensive Online Multiplayer Mode

The new game offers an extensive online multiplayer mode, which allows players to compete with up to 21 other drivers on any of the game’s 21 Grand Prix circuits. Multiplayer cross-platform action is available between Mac and Windows drivers on the Steam version of the game, while the Mac App Store version of the app allows only Mac-Mac multiplayer action.

F1 2016 will be available through the Feral Store and Steam for $59.99 / £39.99 / €49.99.

On the Mac App Store, F1 2016 will be available for $49.99 / £48.99 / €49.99.

The minimum system requirements for F1 2016 are a 2.8Ghz Intel Core i5 processor running macOS 10.12.4, 8GB of RAM and a 2GB NVIDIA 680, AMD R9 280M, Intel Iris 540 or better. The recommended system requirements are a 3.3GHz Intel Core i7 processor running macOS 10.12.4, 16GB of RAM and a 4GB AMD R9 395X or better.
