Showtime Adds Download Support to its iOS Apps

Premium cable service Showtime has updated its iOS apps to support downloading of episodes offering its cord-cutting users the ability to enjoy episodes of programs such as “Billions” with the need for a continual Internet connection.

Both the Showtime streaming app and Showtime Anytime app now support offline viewing. Users are required to have a subscription to the service via their cable or satellite provider. Providers include: AT&T, Charter/Spectrum, Comcast, Cox, DirecTV, DISH, Optimum, and Verizon.

The streaming app offers a free one-month trial. The subscription will run you $10.99 per month following the end of the trial.

The service offers movies alongside its own exclusive shows, including “Homeland,” “Ray Donovan,” “Weeds,” and “Californication.”
