Pixelmator Team Announces Fall Release of ‘Pixelmator Pro 1.0’

The Pixelmator Team has unveiled their latest Mac image editing app, Pixelmator Pro 1.0. The new app promises professional-grade tools, an new intuitive design, a modern single-window interface, nondestructive, GPU-powered image editing tools, machine learning-enhanced editing features and more. The new app will be available this fall exclusively via the Mac App Store.

Pixelmator Pro is a powerful, beautiful, and easy to use image editor. Featuring an elegant and streamlined single-window interface, it puts all the focus on the images you edit, rather than what’s around them. And with a design that is totally and completely Mac, it feels instantly familiar from the moment you first open the app. So image editing becomes simpler and more enjoyable than ever.

The app will offer completely nondestructive color adjustments, effects, styles, and layouting tools. The new presets feature, allows users to create endless combinations of multiple adjustments, effects, or styles, save them to their favorites and reuse them in any of their images. Drag-and-drop sharing allows easy sharing of presets with others.

Designed exclusively for the Mac, Pixelmator Pro uses the Mac graphics processor in tandem with the latest Mac graphics technologies, such as Metal 2, Core Image, and OpenGL, to deliver blistering fast, GPU-powered image editing. Built with Swift 4, Pixelmator Pro is a next-generation app that takes full advantage of the latest technological innovations in hardware and software.

Other new features will include: HEIF file format compatibility; full RAW support, including support for multiple RAW layers; superior support for Adobe Photoshop images; complete macOS integration via full support for iCloud, Versions, Tabs, Full Screen, Split View, Sharing, Permanent Undo, Touch Bar, Wide Color, and others; Metal 2-powered painting tools and dual texture brushes; powerful retouching, reshaping, selecting, type, shape and vector tools; and more.

Pixelmator Pro 1.0 will be available exclusively in the Mac App Store this fall. Pricing and system requirements have not yet been announced. Interested users can receive an email when the app launches, by signing up on the Pixelmator Pro website.
