Apple to Offer Veterans Day Apple Watch Activity Challenge

Apple Watch users will be able to complete a special Apple Watch Activity Challenge to commemorate Veterans Day (November 11). The challenge, only available to users in the United States, will allow Apple Watch wearers to earn a special badge and iMessage sticker for completing the challenge.

To earn the award, simply complete an 11 minute workout on Veterans Day. Accumulate time with the Workout app or a third-party app that adds workouts to the HealthKit database.

Users who complete the challenge will receive the iMessage sticker seen above, and a 3D medal trophy in their Activity app.

While the challenge is only available to users in the U.S., residents in other countries might be able to trick their Watch into offering the award by changing their region.

The challenge, which will be available this Saturday, is the first Apple has offered since this summer, when a challenge was offered in cooperation with the National Parks Foundation. Users were required to complete a walk, run, or wheelchair workout of 3.5 miles to earn an award, which also included stickers for use in iMessage. The 3.5 miles goal matched the distance of a hike from Old Faithful to Mallard Lake in Yellowstone National Park.
