U.S. and Canada iPhone X Shipping Estimates Shrink, Apple Stores May Have More iPhone X Units Than Expected

Things are looking up for iPhone X buyers. Shipping estimates for the iPhone X in the U.S. and Canada have shrunk to between 3 and 4 weeks. Similar improvements have been reported in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Meanwhile Apple Stores may have more iPhone X units available than expected to serve walk-in customers.

AppleInsider reports that the faster shipping times appear to apply to every color, carrier, and storage capacity combination available.

Earlier today, a number of people including multiple AppleInsider readers reported better delivery times for iPhones they’d already preordered, in some cases by a matter of weeks. That would seem to reflect comments by Apple CEO Tim Cook during today’s Q4 results call, noting that the company is increasing iPhone X production “week by week” and trying to ship “as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, folks looking to score an iPhone X this morning may be pleasantly surprised. 9to5Mac is reporting that Apple Stores may have more stock of the new handset than expected for walk-in customers.

One of our own store contacts said that those in the queue at store opening looked set to get one, while an unconfirmed tip indicated that London stores have 500-1000 models each.

It had been expected that the new flagship device would be in extremely short supply on launch day, even more so than usual.
