Apple’s AirPower Charging Pad Said to be Set for March Release

Japanese publication Mac Otakara says its sources have confirmed that Apple’s highly-anticipated AirPower charging pad will hit shelves in March.

Mac Otakara:

A while ago The Apple Post got information from Best Buy sources, Apple will release Qi Wireless wireless charging pad “AirPower” in the second half of March and Qi wireless charging compatible case for AirPods compatible with AirPower As planned, it was sold as a standalone product only at the Apple Store, and at other dealers it was said that it will be a set sale of AirPods and Qi wireless charging compatible case.

Mac Otakara has a fair track record when predicting things like Apple product launches, but as is normal with reports like this, they should always be taken with a grain of your favorite low-sodium salt substitute.

In addition to its own online and bricks and mortar retail outlets, Apple is also said to be set to sell the charging pad through authorized reselling partners, including Best Buy. The electronics retailer will reportedly offer the AirPower for sale on day one of the release.

The AirPower is a Qi-compatible wireless charging pad that offers wireless charging for multiple devices at once, with enough power to simultaneously charge an iPhone 8/8 Plus/X, Apple Watch, and a wireless-compatible AirPods case.

There was no mention on the release timeframe for the wireless AirPods charging cases, which were revealed to the public alongside the AirPower charging pad back in September. Earlier reports have indicated standalone wireless AirPods charging cases exclusively through its own retail stores. Third-party reseller will likely only offer the new case as a package with new AirPods.
