Apple Reportedly Set to Feature OLED Displays for All Three 2019 iPhone Models

A new report indicates all three 2019 iPhone models will feature OLED displays. Two out of the three models expected to debut later this year will likely boast OLED screens.

The 2018 iPhone lineup is expected to feature a second-generation iPhone X and a larger “iPhone X Plus” said to include OLED displays among their features. A lower-cost 6.1-inch models is expected that will feature a full-face display similar to the iPhone X, but will be an LCD display instead of an OLED display.

A new report from South Korea’s ET News  (Google Translation) has chimed in, saying its sources indicate the trio of 2019 OLED devices.

“Apple recently started planning the iPhone model in 2019 and decided to adopt OLED in all three types,” said an official from Apple who said, “The OLED used in the iPhone X (TEN) is a low temperature polysilicon (LTPS) LCD Quality, performance, and so on. ”
Another official said, “Apple has decided to put all the OLED on the new iPhone model in 2019.” If the new model is more than three kinds, the LCD model may be maintained. However.

The report joins other reports in indicating Apple’s direction, and the financial market appears to be placing some credence in the story, as Reuters reports shares of LCD display supplier Japan Display fell today, initially dropping by 20%, although they have recovered somewhat since. Bloomberg reported Sharp’s shares fell 4%.
