Best Buy Reveals Beats Decade Collection Headphones Ahead of WWDC Announcement

Apple’s Beats Decade Collection hardware, intended to celebrate Beats By Dre’s 10th anniversary, was revealed by Best Buy this week, ahead of the planned announcement by Apple at the Worldwide Developers Conference Keynote on June 4.

Best Buy is the most prominent store to reveal the collection ahead of WWDC. The retailer’s website estimates a June 4 ship-by-date, indicating an official announcement on that day. As of this article, the Decade Collection page is still available on the Best Buy website.

Beats was launched so people could hear music the way the artist intended. A decade later they’re still changing the game. Styled in Defiant Black-Red in tribute to their bold beginnings and music’s dynamic emotion, the Beats Decade Collection celebrates their first 10 years of innovation.

The collection applies a “Defiant Black-Red” color scheme to five products in the Beats lineup, including the Studio3 Wireless, Solo3 Wireless, Powerbeats3 Wireless, BeatsX Wireless and urBeats3.

Although the collection is a limited edition, pricing appears to be the same as their normal product designs.

Beats was founded in 2006 by rapper Dr. Dre and record industry mogul Jimmy Iovine. The company first partnered with audio accessory company Monster Cable to produce and distribute headphones and other accessories.

Apple purchased the company from the duo in 2014 in a $3 billion acquisition deal.
