WWDC 18 Scholarship Winners Meet Tim Cook, Get Free AirPods

The over 350 student developers that received scholarships to attend Appleā€™s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 18) attended a special orientation at the Steve Jobs Theater on Sunday, where the speakers included Apple CEO Tim Cook and Apple Vice President of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives Lisa Jackson.

Afterwards, the Scholarship winners were treated to a photo app with Cook, and were afforded the opportunity to demonstrate their apps to him. Cook later tweeted a link to a short video showing the students explaining their current or favorite app.

The students also received an excellent souvenir to remember the day by, a free pair of AirPods.

WWDC 2018 kicks off today, with a Keynote address at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, where Apple is expected to announce new versions of iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. They are also rumored to possibly debut new hardware, but no one can seem to agree as to what that might include. Come back here later for all of the details.
