Apple Memoji-fies Their Apple Leadership Site in Celebration of World Emoji Day

Today is World Emoji Day, and to celebrate, Apple has replaced the photos of its key executives on its Apple Leadership site with Memoji avatars.

The page now displays Memoji avatars of Apple CEO Tim Cook, VP of Retail Angela Ahrendts, Senior VP Internet Software and Services Eddie Cue, and other key executives.

If you’re not familiar with Memojis, they are a new iPhone X-only feature coming in iOS 12, allowing users to create personal emoji-like avatars that can be customized to resemble the user.

Users can customized their Memoji avatar by modifying the avatar’s skin color, hair color, hair style, eye color, eyebrows, nose, facial features like facial hair and freckles, accessories, and headwear.

The Memoji feature will also work with future devices that offer the Face ID camera system, which is expected to include a new iPad Pro expected to debut later this year.

In addition to “Memojifying” their Leadership site, the Cupertino firm also shared a peek at the upcoming new emoji to be included in Unicode 11, which will be included for use in iOS 12.

The new emoji designs, created based on approved characters in Unicode 11.0, include even more hair options to better represent people with red hair, gray hair and curly hair, a new emoji for bald people, and new smiley faces that bring more expression to Messages with a cold face, party face, pleading face and a face with hearts.
