Apple Registers Six New Apple Watch ‘Series 4’ Model Identifiers in Eurasian Economic Database

Apple has registered six new Apple Watch “Series 4” model identifiers in the Eurasian economic database. New Watch models are expected to debut at September’s iPhone event.

Consomac discovered the new “Series 4” models are listed with six model identifiers and is noted as shipping with watchOS5. Model numbers for the new Apple Watch units appear to be A1977, A1978, A1975, A1976, A2007 and A2008.

This isn’t the first time that Eurasian regulatory filings have revealed upcoming Apple products. Previous filings have revealed what turned out to be the iPhone 7, Apple Watch Series 2, and AirPods, as well as other products.

Six new model numbers indicate the Apple Watch Series 4 will launch with just three models, assuming two sizes per model. The Series 3 is available in four models, two sizes per model, in 3 cellular and one GPS-only model. Apple could be dropping the GPS-only model, or could be dropping the rather expensive ceramic model from the lineup. Only time will tell.

Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted the new Apple Watch will boast a 15% larger screen with smaller bezels that allow larger screen sizes without making the Watch larger.
