Apple Releases iOS 12 Beta Eight to Developers on Heels of Pulling Seventh Beta

Apple on Wednesday released the eighth beta of their upcoming iOS 12 mobile operating system to developers. The release comes just a few days after the release and subsequent pulling back of the seventh beta.

Registered developers can install the new beta to their compatible iOS devices that have the proper certificate installed. The new beta can also be downloaded form the Apple Developer Center.

Apple was forced to pull the seventh beta of iOS 12 just a few hours after its release, following reports of performance issues. User reported serious delays when launching apps, with a long delay between when an app icon was tapped and when the app actually launched.

While many users saw the issue disappear after five or 10 minutes of use, some users reported they experiences continues delays, as well as app crashes and freezes. The bug was considered serious enough by Apple to pull the update until a fix was available.

No public beta of the Monday update was released, due to the bugs found in the developer beta. However, Apple has released a new version of iOS 12 for its public beta testers. iOS 12 Public Beta 6 is the same as the eighth developer beta.
