Latest tvOS 12 Beta Brings Dolby Atmos support for iTunes Movies on Apple TV 4K

Apple’s latest seed of the tvOS 12 operating system for the Apple TV brings Dolby Atmos audio support for several iTunes Movies.

When tvOS 12 is released this fall, Apple will upgrade compatible movies in the iTunes library for free. Dolby Atmos requires an Apple TV 4K and Dolby Atmos compatible speakers and receivers.

Apple took a similar route when it upgraded iTunes Movies for 4K and HDR. The tvOS update will make the Apple TV 4K streaming box the only device of its kind to offer both Dolby Vision HDR video and Dolby Atmos sound.
