Apple to Add Additional Apple Watch Series 4 Manufacturer in Face of ‘Better Than Expected’ Demand

A new report claims Apple is facing better than expected demand for the Apple Watch Series 4 (that explains the November – December delivery date for my new Apple Watch), and is adding a new assembly partner to the mix.

Taiwan-based Quanta Computer has reportedly reached its maximum manufacturing capacity for the Apple Watch Series 4. Fellow Taiwanese manufacturer Compal Electronics will begin production of the wearable in November.

DigiTimes:

With Quanta Computer’s capacity for the Apple Watch Series 4 at its factory in Changshu, eastern China fully loaded, the wearable’s second supplier Compal Electronics reportedly will begin mass production of the smartwatch in November 2018, according to industry sources.

Industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said on Monday that demand for the new Apple Watch is “much better than expected.” He believes Apple Watch shipments will tally between 18 million and 19.5 million units in 2018.

Apple Watch has proven to be the most popular smartwatch available when considering market share and revenue.

Many models of the new Watch show an estimated delivery date of late October in the United States. Or, if you’re like me and ordered the Watch from your carrier, November to December. Oh well, at least my new Apple XS Max was delivered yesterday.
