Apple Registers New Mac Models in Eurasia Ahead of October 30 Media Event

Apple is reported to have registered several new models in their Mac lineup with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) this week, just ahead of the October 30 event where the Cupertino firm is expected to debut new Macs.

MacRumors:

… The filings, discovered by MySmartPrice and French website Consomac, are legally required for any devices with encryption sold in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.

The Mac model numbers are A1347, A1418, A1419, A1481, A1862, A1993, A2115, A2116, A1466, A1534, A1708, A1932, A1989, A1990. Some of the numbers refer to existing models that are being updated in the registry to specify that they come with the macOS Mojave operating system installed. However, four of the numbers don’t match any offered in the current Mac lineup.

Apple is widely expected to debut a new entry-level 13-inch MacBook at its October 30 shindig, to be held in New York City. The Mac mini, which hasn’t seen a refresh for years, is also expected to get an update.

Apple is also expected to unveil new iPad Pro models, boasting slimmer bezels, no Home button, and a TrueDepth camera system that will allow the use of Face ID for biometric authentication.

The Apple press event will take place on October 30 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Howard Gilman Opera House. The event should be available for live viewing on the Apple website and the Apple TV. But, if you can’t watch the happenings, we’ll be covering it for you, so stay tuned.
