PlayStation Vue App Adds Support for Apple’s TV App

Live television streaming service PlayStation Vue has added support for Apple’s TV app on iOS and fourth and fifth-generation Apple TV devices.

MacRumors:

With this addition, PS Vue subscribers can now sync the on-demand movies and TV shows they watch within Sony’s app to the TV app, making it easier to jump directly into a PS Vue stream.

When browsing for movies and TV shows in the TV app, PlayStation Vue is now listed as a viewing option, alongside other apps, such as HBO Go, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Showtime, and others.

PC Vue subscribers can also add PS Vue-compatible films and television series to their “Up Next” list. Apple’s TV app will then keep track of your progress as you watch them.

Reddit users point out that live sports are also supported, allowing users to add games to their “Up Next” list, then go directly to the game from the TV app into the PS Vue app to begin viewing the game.

As pointed out by MacRumors, while there are close to 90 apps supported by Apple’s TV app, the recent PS Vue addition marks the addition of one of the first live television streaming services to the app.
