YouTube recently added around 100 hours of free movies. The YouTube free movies are legal and 100% free, but you’ll have to watch some ads. The movies include such hits as The Terminator, Legally Blonde, and numerous others. Sure, there are some turds in there too, like The Pink Panther 2 and Bio-Dome, but you take the good with the bad, I suppose.
The growth of ad-supported streaming services has really taken off as advertisers take notice of the opportunities streaming offers. Walmart and Roku have both recently launched free services joining Pluto TV, Tubi, and Sony Crackle.
YouTube seems be testing the waters on what could turn into a dedicated legal free with ads section.
It will be interesting to watch this new development and to see how well it works out for YouTube. The streaming service is engaged in a constant battle to fight the illegal uploading of popular movies and TV shows.
