Apple Debuts New ‘Color Flood’ Ad Promoting iPhone XR’s Liquid Retina Display

Apple on Friday debuted a new ad for their new iPhone XR handset. The new spot, entitled “Color Flood,” features hundreds of participants dressed in colorful jumpsuits running through an empty town area. The ad spot is set to the soundtrack of Cosmo Sheldrake’s “Come Along.”

MacRumors noticed an interesting touch in the ad spot:

In one easily missed touch, there’s a quick glimpse of purple-suited cast members pouring out of the back of a van that sports the license plate number “I-XR0941,” a reference to the iPhone XR and the 9:41 AM time Apple uses in all of its stock iPhone imagery.

The ad ends with a shot of the iPhone XR, and the tagline “Make room for color,” highlighting the device’s Liquid Retina display.

The new handset is Apple’s solution for users looking to take advantage of most of the technology of the company’s iPhone “X” lineup, but at a lower price.
