How to Enable or Disable Automatic Workout Detection on the Apple Watch

If you’re like me, you sometimes forget to turn on Workout Mode on your Apple Watch before starting your workout, never gaining credit for your workout. Luckily, watchOS 5 brings Automatic Workout Detection. Here’s how to enable and disable the feature.

Enabling and Disabling Automatic Workouts on Your Apple Watch

  1. Open the Settings app on Apple Watch. (Click the Digital Crown to open the apps list.)
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap “Workout.”
  4. Scroll down to the “Start Workout Reminder” and “End Workout Reminder” sections.
  5. Set the toggle switches to your personal preferences.

Note: You can also do this on your iPhone by going into the “Watch” app, and tapping “Workout” on the “My Watch” tab. Then, scroll down to the “Start Workout Reminder” and “End Workout Reminder” sections. Set those toggle switches to your personal preferences.
