New App Offers Apple Music Users a Look at Their ‘Music Year in Review’ for 2018

A new app offers Apple Music users a look back at their listening trends of 2018, including such information as your most listened to genre, artists and song.

iDownloadBlog:

Music Year in Review is a new iPhone app by a startup called NoiseHub led by Alex Santarelli. Available on App Store at no charge, this piece of software lets you look back at your listening trends of 2018, including your most listened to genre, artists and song.

Users will be asked for permission for the app to access their Apple Music library and to provide an email address so it can save data. (iDownloadBlog says a fake email address works just fine.)

Look back at your listening trends of 2018: your most listened to genre, artists, and songs. We generate beautiful graphics to instantly share on Instagram Stories or Twitter.

Note, this is only for Apple Music subscribers.

The developer says the app has been downloaded 20,000 times since its debut two weeks ago. More functionality is planned for future releases, adding more functionality, fixing crashes, adding a privacy policy and providing more information about the need to provide an email address.

“I want to make it clear that we currently only take in your top five songs, top five artists, top genre and email—and we keep this data entirely internal,” developers wrote on ProductHunt. “This is a passion project that blew up in a couple days, not a scam.”

“We’ll continue working on it and refining it.”

The Music Year in Review app is free for the iOS devices, and is available in the App Store. [GET IT HERE]
