Apple Music Support Possibly on the Way to Google Home Devices

Apple Music support could be on the way to Google Home devices. The Google Home app shows the option, which currently can’t be linked to a Google Home device.

MacRumors:

We were able to track down the Apple Music listing within the Google Home app for iOS devices, but at the current time, it can’t be linked to a Google Home device.

Previous versions of Google’s software have shown Apple Music listed as a separate “limited availability” option, available only on iOS devices. The updated listing infers Apple and Google could be planning to make the feature available on Google Home devices.

The addition of the feature would bring Google Home device on par with Amazon’s lineup of Echo speakers. Apple Music became available on Amazon’s Alexa-powered lineup of speakers in December.

Expansion to Google Home speakers would better allow Apple’s streaming music service to compete with other services, many of which are already available on Google Home devices, including Spotify, Pandora, Google Play Music, and others.
