Ming-Chi Kuo: New 16-inch MacBook Pro, 31-inch 6K Monitor, New iPads, More on the Way From Apple in 2019

Well-connected Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says plenty of new products are on the way from Apple in 2019. In a recent investor note, Kuo says Apple will release a 16-inch MacBook Pro, a 31-inch 6K monitor, new iPads, bilateral charging-capable iPhones, and more During 2019.

The 2019 iPhone lineup will apparently offer the same size phones as 2018, with 6.5-inch, 5.8-inch, and 6.1-inch iPhones. The analyst says that all three will retain Lightning connectivity instead of USB-C.

According to Kuo, the 2019 iPhones will feature ultra-wide band connectivity for indoor positioning and navigation, frosted glass casing, bilateral wireless charging for charging other devices, upgraded Face ID with a higher power flood illuminator, larger batteries, and a triple camera design. Kuo doesn’t explicitly say which model will get what features, but past reports have suggested only the iPhone 11 Max will add three camera.

Kuo sees the iPad lineup receiving two new iPad Pro models this year, featuring upgraded processors. The 9.7 iPad will see its screen size increase to 10.2-inches. A new iPad mini will also see a faster processor.

The Mac lineup will see some considerable improvements, says Kuo, with a new MacBook Pro measuring in at between 16-inches and 16.5-inches with an all-new design. Those new MacBook Pros will be driving a new monitor, as Kuo says Apple will once again be offering an Apple-made monitor, which will be a 31.6-inch 6k monitor. The display is said to boast a Mini LED-like backlighting design.

A new Mac Pro will feature “easy to upgrade components.” The 13-inch MacBook Pro “may” get a 32GB RAM option. Currently, the 13-inch MacBook Pro tops out at 16GB of RAM.

Kuo also predicts the Apple Watch’s ECG capabilities will expand to additional countries this year, and the Watch will also gain a new ceramic casing design.

Last but not least, Kuo predicts wireless charging and updated Bluetooth connectivity will be featured for the new AirPods 2 wireless earbuds, which are expected to debut sometime this year. A new iPod touch is also expected to boast an upgraded processor.

Even though these predictions come from Kuo, he’s not always correct, so be sure to keep your salt-free seasoning shaker handy.
