Toyota Announces CarPlay to be Standard Feature of 2020 Corolla

Toyota on Tuesday announced Apple’s CarPlay, along with Android Auto, will be standard features in its all-new 2020 Corolla in the United States.

The 2020 Corolla sedan comes ready to pair with the driver’s digital life. The standard audio multimedia system includes an available 8-in. touch-screen display; six speakers; Apple CarPlay®, Amazon Alexa, and Scout GPS Link compatibility; hands-free phone capability with voice recognition and music streaming via Bluetooth® wireless technology; customizable home screen settings along with connected services such as Safety Connect and Wi-Fi Connect Powered by Verizon.

CarPlay will be a feature of the standard Toyota Entune 3.0 multimedia system. Also included in the infotainment system will be Android Auto and Amazon Alexa. A 7-inch touchscreen is the display for the base model 2020 Corolla, while the LE trim level and above will boast an 8-inch display. Users will connect their iPhones to the system via a USB port.

The 2020 Toyota Corolla will arrive at dealerships in March, with a base price of $19,500 in the United States.

Toyota was a longtime holdout when it came to CarPlay, but now offers the infotainment system in 2019 and later models of the Avalon, Camry, Corolla Hatchback, C-HR, RAV4, and Sienna as well as the 2020 Corolla, Tacoma, Tundra, Sequoia, 4Runner, and Supra.
