Apple’s 2019 iPad Version to Retain Headphone Jack and Touch ID

Apple is reportedly going to reveil new devices on March 25 but hints are floating that an updated version of the iPad may come with no or little design change. An unnamed sources revealed to Mac Otakara, the Japanese blog, that the entry-level iPad of Apple will not offer significant design changes.

If this if fully confirmed, it would mean the next-gen iPad will be identical to the existing iPad model in terms of the design. It is expected that Apple will continue to sell the iPad with the home button, headphone jack, and Touch ID. It is unclear whether this new model will be sporting a more prominent display but, as per previous reports, Apple is likely to stick with the 9.7-inch screen as of the earlier models.

Last year, Apple had refreshed iPad Pro and incorporated significant changes in the design of the device by trimming down the bezels from the edges. This was the first version of the iPad to ditch the home button as the FaceID is introduced as the primary biometric feature.

Rumours towards an updated iPad have been moving for months, but Apple hasn’t confirmed the existence of the new model. Everywhere the speculation has widespread that 7th generation iPad might get an A11 processor which is faster alongside an updated Apple Pencil. Previously, the analyst of TF International Securities Ming-Chu Kuo said that the new model of iPad would stick to the proprietary Lightning port of Apple instead of USB Type-C.

The new iPad mini 5 launch will also likely to happen at the same time with the updated 7th generation iPad, as per the report.
