Apple’s Texture to Shut Down May 28 in Wake of Apple News+ Launch

Apple-owned Texture, the subscription-based magazine service Apple purchased in 2018, has announced that it will be shutting down on May 28. The service is pushing customers to Apple News+.

“Texture is ending. Texture’s last day of service is May 28, 2019. But you can continue reading your favorite magazines, plus so much more, with Apple News+.”

Apple acquired the magazine service to use as the basis of its Apple News+ digital magazine and newspaper subscription service that it launched earlier this week.

Android users that subscribed to the service will be SOL (simply out of luck) while the service was available on Android devices, Apple News+ is only available on Apple devices.

An Apple News+ is $9.99 per month in the United States, and is also available for $12.99 per month in Canada.
