DIRECTV NOW App Adds Apple TV App Integration

AT&T on Thursday announced its DIRECTV NOW streaming app has gained support for Apple’s TV App.

The Watch Now tab on the Apple TV app is where everything you can watch across services comes together with recommendations, a look at “what’s trending,” live sports, and more. At the top of the tab, Up Next helps organize your shows, movies and sports, so you can easily keep track of everything you’re watching and never miss a new episode or live game.

DIRECTV NOW viewers can now take advantage of tailored recommendations for the service via the “Watch Now” feature on the Apple TV.

There’s so much on-demand content and live sports channels included with your DIRECTV NOW subscription, so the Apple TV app is a great place to help you find something new or jump back into your favorite on-demand show as new episodes arrive or quickly tune to a national sports broadcast.

Siri voice searches can now be used to find shows and movies on the live streaming service. Siri searches now work with the service’s entire on-demand library.

Simply use the “search” function or ask Siri to find a show as you normally would, and any content available in the DIRECTV NOW library will appear as an option.

Siri can now take care of live tune-in for you too, so you get right to a specific live channel with ease. Simply say “Siri, tune to [your favorite channel]” to open DIRECTV NOW and turn on the channel.

Single Sign-On is also enabled, allowing DIRECTV NOW customers to sign-in once with their username and password to access content on any supported third-party app. Users will be be prompted to enter their credentials the first time they use a supported third-party app.
