Apple Promotes Its Trade In Program as ‘One Last Great Thing’ to Do With an Old iPhone

A new video on Apple’s YouTube channel promotes its iPhone Trade In program as the “one last great thing” to do with their iPhone by turning in to be refurbished or recycled when they buy a new iPhone.

The iPhone Trade In program allows customers to turn in their older hardware when buying a new iPhone and receive credit towards their next purchase or on an Apple Store Gift Card. For devices that aren’t good for credit, the customers are given an opportunity to recycle the older device instead of throwing it away.;

The minute-long video features a narrator that tells viewers “You’ve done great things with your iPhone, but at some point, you’ll be ready for something new.” By trading the device in, it allows it to be “refurbished and put back into the world so someone new can do their own great things with it.”

The spot advises users that even if the trade-in device is not functional the “materials inside will be recovered and recycled. Either way, you can continue to do what you love while respecting the planet.”

The iPhone featured in the video is shown going from being sticker-encrusted to pristine, before showing more images.Then, the old iPhone is exchanged for a boxed model.

The ad spot ends with the tagline, “Do one last great thing with it.”
