4K Content Makes a Return to Hulu to The Apple TV 4K & Chromecast Ultra

Hulu may be one of the biggest streaming platforms around, but until now it has lacked 4K content like that offered by competitors Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. This week, 4K content made a return to Hulu, but only on the Apple TV 4K and Google’s Chromecast Ultra.

First noticed by The Verge, Hulu confirmed on Twitter that 4K streaming was back on selected devices.

Hulu says viewers will need a connection speed of at least 16 Mbps to stream 4K content. (1080p content requires just 6 Mbps.)

Currently, 4K content is limited to a handful of “Hulu Originals,” such as The Handmaid’s Tale and Runaways. Competitors offer a much larger library of shows in 4K. However, Hulu is bound to increase its 4K library in the near future.
