Apple Releases Fourth Developer Beta of macOS Catalina

Apple Releases Fourth Developer Beta of macOS Catalina

Apple on Tuesday released the fourth beta of its upcoming new macOS Catalina operating system to developers for testing.

Beta builds are available to developers over the air on the devices with the proper configuration installed. Developers can also download the new betas from the Apple Developer Center.

The new operating system offers new apps and new technology for developers, and replaces the venerable iTunes app with Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and the Apple TV apps. The new OS also allows Mac users to use their iPad as a second display or graphics tablet.

As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to never install betas on your daily driver iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch or Mac computer, instead only install it on a device set aside for testing purposes.

We also strongly advise that Mac users perform a Time Machine or other type of backup before installing the macOS Catalina beta.

macOS 10.15 Catalina is compatible with the following Macs:

  • MacBook: 2015 and later
  • MacBook Air: 2012 and later
  • MacBook Pro: 2012 and later
  • Mac mini: 2012 and later
  • Mac: 2012 and later
  • iMac Pro: 2017 and later
  • Mac Pro – 2013 and later
