Apple has announced that its HomePod smart speaker will be available in Japan and Taiwan later this summer. Pricing will be ¥32,800 in Japan and NT$9,900 in Taiwan.
The speaker first became available in the United States back in February 2018, and has slowly been rolling out to the rest of the world ever since. Currently the speaker is available on in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Mexico, China, and Hong Kong.
The speaker was originally priced at $349 USD, but Apple lowered the device’s retail price to $299 in April. Strategy Analytics estimated that as of the fourth quarter of 2018, Apple’s speaker had an estimated market share of just 4%.
