Apple hasn’t yet released iOS 13 to the public (it will likely be released in September, following the unveiling of the new iPhone). However, that hasn’t stopped the Cupertino firm from today releasing the first beta seeds of iOS 13.1 and iPadOS 13.1.
Beta builds are available to developers over the air on the devices with the proper configuration installed. Developers can also download the new betas from the Apple Developer Center.
This is a first for Apple, as the company has never released a point update to an iOS beta before the operating system has been released to the public. So, it isn’t clear if today’s update is the victim of a misnaming error, or what might be behind the move by Apple.
Although it was initially believed the iOS 13.1 release was an error, it appears the Apple purposefully released the update that would be released after the public release of iOS 13. This may indicate Apple has the code for iOS 13 in set stone before next month’s release, indicating the Golden Master for iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 may be ready.

As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any betas on your daily driver iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch or Mac computer, instead only install it on a device set aside for testing purposes.
