Apple’s Danish Site Indicates macOS Catalina Could Launch on October 4

Apple has said their upcoming new version of macOS, macOS Catalina, will be released sometime in October. Now, text on Apple’s Danish macOS Catalina website indicates the release date could be on Friday, October 4.

The Apple Arcade section of the macOS Catalina website for Denmark says that Apple Arcade will be available in the Mac App Store starting October 4. The Google Translation reads: “Exceptional gaming experiences. Comes in the App Store for October. 4”

The macOS Catalina update is required for Apple Arcade, so this means to make an October 4 release date for Apple Arcade, macOS Catalina will need to also debut either on the 4th or before.

If macOS Catalina were to be released on Friday, October 4 it would be rather unusual, as historically, major OS X and macOS updates occur on a Monday or a Tuesday. The last time a version of the Mac operating system was released on a Friday was OS X Snow Leopard, 10 years ago.

It is possible that the text on the Danish Apple website was a placeholder that hadn’t yet been replaced, so we’ll have to wait to see when Apple officially announces a release date or an actual release.
