Apple Arcade Now Available to macOS Catalina Beta Users

Apple on Friday enabled access to Apple Arcade for users running the macOS 10.15 Catalina beta. Catalina was updated to Golden Master on Thursday.

The Mac launch of Arcade completes the rollowu of Apple’s newest subscription gaming service, as the service was already available to users on iOS, iPadOS, and Apple TV devices running the latest software versions.

Although Apple has promoted Apple Arcade as offering over 100 games, not all games are available on every platform, with the Mac version currently offering around two dozen titles, including Big Time Sports, Card of Darkness, and more.

Arcade is $4.99 per month, providing up to six members of your family access to all Apple platforms via Family Sharing. A 1-month free trial is available.

The new gaming service requires macOS Catalina. Users who currently have macOS Mojave installed are seeing a “Welcome to Apple Arcade on Mac!” feature story in the Mac App Store. The story promotes the new gaming service, and includes a “Check for Update” button, suggesting that a public launch of macOS Catalina is nearing.
