Apple Announces January 2 New Year’s Shopping Event in Japan

Apple on Wednesday announced that it will be holding a one-day New Year’s shopping event in Japan on Thursday, January 2. During the event, the company will offer customers an Apple Store gift card worth up to ¥24,000 with the purchase of select Apple products.

The Google Translation of the announcement page reads:

New Year’s balls from Apple.

January 2 only. Buy an eligible product and get an Apple Store gift card worth up to $ 200. Don’t miss Apple’s first sale.

While Apple hasn’t revealed the full details about the sale, last year the Apple Store gift card values ranged between ¥3,000 and ¥24,000 for select iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Beats purchases. The latest products – like the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, Apple Watch Series 5, and AirPods Pro – will likely not qualify.

The event will take place in the Apple Store app and at Apple Stores in Japan.
