Apple Podcasts are now available on Alexa-enabled devices as of today. Amazon announced the new feature this morning. Alexa devices owners in the United States can now ask the virtual assistant to play Apple Podcasts.
Whether you’re listening at home or on the go, you don’t need to worry about losing your spot. Link your account in the Alexa app using your Apple ID, and you can seamlessly pick up where you left off listening on the Apple Podcasts App or your Alexa device. Pause the subscribed episode you’re listening to in the Apple Podcasts app on your commute, and continue listening with your Alexa device at home by asking Alexa to resume the podcast.
It’s easy to find and play your favorite podcasts with Alexa—all you have to do is ask for the episode you want to hear.
Customers simply link their Amazon accounts to their Apple ID, and from then on all listening progress they make on any Apple Podcast will be synced with their Alexa-enabled devices.
Users can set Apple Podcasts as their preferred podcast provider within the Alexa app, by going to “Setting” -> “Music and Podcasts” -> “Link/Manage New Services” to change the setting.
Apple Podcasts has over 750,000 shows in their library, and syncs your listening progress across all devices, which now include Amazon’s Echo devices.
