Plex Announces Worldwide Availability of Ad-Supported Free Video on Demand Feature

Plex on Wednesday announced worldwide availability of its ad-supported video-on-demand feature. The feature is now available in over 200 countries and is accessible to anyone that creates a free Plex account.

Thousands of free movies and TV shows are available on the service, including content from partners such as MGM, Warner Bros, Lionsgate, and Legendary. The movies and shows will include ads, which seems like a fair trade for free content.

The films and shows will include a wide variety of genres, including comedies, drama, Bollywood musicals, and documentaries. Plex plans to add additional free content in the coming months.

The Plex app is available on most popular device platforms, including iOS, Mac, Apple TV, Roku, Android, Windows, and many Smart TVs.

Plex says that it may take some time for the new feature to rollout to all users. More information is available on the Plex website.
