Swedish Bank Swedbank Launches Support for Apple Pay

One of the largest banks in Sweden has announced support for Apple Pay. Swedbank today announced support for Apple’s electronic payments service.

“We want to be able to provide our customers a good range of digital and mobile services and Apple Pay is a sought-after service among our customers. We are pleased to now be able to broaden our mobile payment offer with yet another secure and smart alternative, which will provide lots of added value for our customers”, said Lotta Lovén, Head of Digital Banking at Swedbank.

Swedbank customers can now add their Mastercard credit cards and their Maestro debit cards to the Wallet app.

Adding Your Credit or Debit Card to Apple Pay

Once Apple Pay arrives in their country, users can add their credit or debit card to the service by doing the following:

  • iPhone users running iOS 12 can go to the Wallet app and tap the “+” icon in the upper right-hand corner to begin, and then just follow the prompts. Users of iPads with Touch ID can add a card to the service to use in apps by going into “Settings” -> “Wallet & Apple Pay” to add a card there.
  • Apple Watch users will need to enter the Watch app on their iPhone, Tap on the “Wallet & Apple Pay” option, and then tap the “Add Credit or Debit Card” option.

For more information about the service, visit the Apple website.

Apple Pay first launched in Sweden back in October 2017. The addition of Swedbank means up to 4.1 million more customers in the country now have access to Apple’s payments system.
