Apple Partnering With Red Cross to Accept Donations to Help Australian Fire Relief Efforts

Apple is now working with the Red Cross to accept donations to help with fire relief efforts in Australia. Apple CEO Tim Cook announced back in late December that he Cupertino-based computer maker donated funds to support fire fighting and relief efforts in Australia.

Apple has updated its US and Australian websites to include a link to donate money to help with the bushfire relief efforts in Australia. Clicking the link takes users to the Music app on the Mac or the iTunes app on iOS devices. Users can then select the amount of their donation from a series of options. In the US, users can select from six buttons ranging from $5 to $200.

All donations go directly to the Red Cross relief efforts. Donations from the U.S. site go to the American Red Cross, while donations from the Australian website go to the Australian Red Cross.

Apple doesn’t collect any processing fees and iTunes transfers 100% of your donation to providing relief efforts for the Australian bushfires.

Unfortunately, there is no option for users outside of the U.S. or Australia to donate. At this time, we’re not certain if Apple will expand the donations to more territories. Folks outside of the U.S. or Australia who wish to donate to Australian fire relief efforts can visit the Red Cross website to donate.
