New Video Allegedly Shows Off New Samsung ‘Galaxy Z Flip’ Foldable Phone

A new video allegedly provides a look at Samsung’s upcoming “Galaxy Z Flip” foldable phone. The video provides a hands-on preview of the Soth Korean phone maker’s second try and making a folding phone.

Ben Geskin posted the video on Twitter early Sunday morning.

The short clip shows a clamshell-like device reminiscent of a traditional flip phone that folds up into a compact palm-sized phone, which will then easily fit into a pocket.

The outside/back of the device appears to show two cameras next to a digital clock readout. No word on whether the device uses the “ultra-thin glass” Samsung reportedly developed to resolve the display issues that plagued their original foldable, the Galaxy Fold.

The upcoming Galaxy Z Flip is expected to be a bit more affordable than the Fold is, which costs $1,980 in the United States. The Z Flip is expected to be unveiled alongside the Galaxy S11 (which could be called the “Galaxy S20”) at Samsung’s Unpacked event in San Francisco on February 11.

Although Apple has patented some foldable display technology, there are no rumors that the Cupertino firm has any plans to release a foldable device any time in the near future.
